I called Commodore's 1-800 number to get some information about the Amiga 3000 -- specifically, prices under the educational discount program and local stores where I could try one out. I gave the operator my name, address, school, telephone number and all that, and was told that I could expect the information to arrive within two weeks. Well, three and a half weeks later, it arrived. I got a letter listing three stores, the local store is out of business (which I told the operator) , and the next closest is about an hour and a half away (Binghamton or Fairport, New York). I also got a general Amiga can do anything brochure, and a little fold out brochure on the A3000. No information on the educational discount program at all, not even a form. I realize that prices were due to change at the end of July, and I'm hoping that Commodore will send me the new prices and forms as soon as they're ready. In the meantime, just what are prices on the Amiga 3000? I want to get news and mail, so I'm looking for a machine with plenty of memory and a large hard drive. What about the rumors of a tower case Amiga (the 3500?)?
