I just got off the phone with the technical support folks at Data East, and am very disappointed. I've put many, many hours into playing Drakkhen, and have come to a point where three of my characters are dead, and one of the dead is paralyzed. That's no big deal, easy to fix, right? Well, it would be ok except for one thing: it won't let me back into group mode. I'm stuck in character mode. Data East's answer to this is that there's something wrong with my character disk, so I should start over; it is NOT a bug in the software. Their rationale is A) no one else has complained about it, and B) there are NO bugs in the code. Come on, pull the other leg, guys. There was no: 'send us a copy of the disk and we'll look at it', or even 'Gee, we really are sorry about that.' So I'm just retiring the game and staying away from their other products.
