[comp.sys.amiga] a1950 problems

robert@alliant.backbone.uoknor.edu (Robert Lindsay) (08/08/90)

I too have had my life made a living hell also. My nice 1950 monitor
(which had problems) was sent back to Commodore 3 weeks ago. They were supposed
to ship me a new one as soon as the old one arrived. The monitor was shipped
the 19 of July, it arrived the 25. On the 30 I called commodore. They couldn't
find it. (I then put a UPS trace on it which revealed its arrival date). Alice
Feeney in the service Dept. said that they'd ship a new one out anyway on the
1 of August. No monitor. On the 3 I called back. Monitors stuck in Quality
assurance. Ship next week. On monday I called again. Not sure if its been
shipped yet or not. Today I find that all 1950's are still stuck in QA
no idea when they'll get out. No idea when I'll get my monitor back.
DO YOU KNOW HOW USELESS A BRAND NEW (and apparently the only one in
this state) A3000 IS WITHOUT A MONITOR???!!!!! I haven't been this depressed
since I got my first Joy Division album.

Anyway to try and make this a not completely useless flame. Here's something
I've heard about the 1950 and why it seemingly has problems being shipped
by UPS and surviving: There is no bottom support inside the monitor for the
electronics.

still stuck with a very wise, blind cyclops.
