Hello C.S.A.ers, at work we are developing some Microsoft windows applications. I have had a chance to work with the dialog box editor that came with the Windows development kit. This is truely a wonderful thing to have, as it makes the interface design a breeze. My question is: Is there a similar utility avalable for the Amiga? It sure would be much nicer to simply draw up the dialog boxes from the supplied parts, and have the editor write the code for you. I have heard of a utility called "power windows" but I have never seen it, and I don't really know what it does. Any suggestions??? Bo Najdrovsky ...att!mwood!okcusr!bn okcusr!bn@MWOOD.ATT.COM

It's easy to use and their code generator comments what they're up to, so you can hack on it, if you need to. It works with both Latice (they say), and Manx (I know). It seems a very polished product. They have some sort of demo floating on BBS that does not generate code, but shows you window/menu/screen/button creation and their UI. ******************************************************************* * Nhoj Nivram * * email: jmarvin@oracle.com * * "Reality is a Harsh Mistress..." * *******************************************************************

Well, PowerWindows is an invaluable tool, unfortunately it needs an update and debugging session. If you're working on a user interface, you'll need it, but you might not like it. It allows you to draw your screens, windows, gadgets, and menus, and then generate source code in sveral languages. It has a few problems with multiple Windows, and does not support the new Lattice 'chip' directive, but in all it greatly eases the programming burden. -- David Plummer - via FidoNet node 1:140/22 UUCP: ...!alberta!herald!weyr!70!David.Plummer Domain: David.Plummer@f70.n140.z1.FIDONET.ORG Standard Disclaimers Apply...
