I have located two dealers here in town that are interested in carrying the Commodore line. Their interest seems to be genuine, but subdued. One of the two had looked into Commodore dealership in the B.C. (before Copperman) days, and is quite wary of the old practice of selling stuff "like toys" through general merchandise retail and discount stores. The other says that he has a relationship set up, but has never pursued the marketing of Commodore products, because the payback potential paled in comparison to his primary line (he is a very successful Apple dealer). I have just started a consulting firm whose primary focus will be one- stop system hardware and software requirement analysis, alternative solutions research and presentation, purchase arrangements, and user training. As an avid Amiga user, I would like to be able to offer Amiga solutions to my customers. Since I am planning to avoid any entangling marketing agreements which might restrict my ability to offer each user as wide a variety of options as possible, the only way I can see this happening is if we get one of these dealers more involved in the Commodore dealership program. What I need is: A) Literature outlining all dealership options that Commodore is currently offering, including any fees involved, stocking requirements, and territory preservation information. B) A complete price list at all dealership levels. C) Information on the University Purchase Plan. D) A regional marketing representative contact for central Missouri who we can contact to arrange a demonstration of the capabilities of the Amiga line. Thanks in advance, Fred L.
