[comp.sys.amiga] VLT V4.824 and Emacs

It was noted here previously that all or part of the mode line from
GNU Emacs gets lost when using VLT V4.824. I found the fix, and it is
simple: you have to set destructive backspace OFF. GNU Emacs, and
presumably all Unix termcap-driven programs, use control-H to move the
cursor left. It apparently is now ON by default, which is a change
from previous versions. There doesn't appear to be a menu item for
this; the script command is DESTRUCTIVE OFF (DEST is the shortest
allowed abbreviation).

V4.824 DOES have the Destructive Backspace as a menu option under
the Operation menu. Clicking it off causes VLT to work fine with
our version of EMACS (18.52) and tcsh.

Also thanks to the person who is posting the vlt related programs to
/incoming/amiga/ on abcfd!
