[comp.sys.amiga] Amigas in Japan?

Hello all,

There have been several requests for information about Amigas in
Japan, but no answers as of yet, it seems. If anyone has information
in the following areas:

- Amiga dealers in Japan
- Amiga users or user groups in Japan
- experiences re: Amiga in Japan

please send email. I will reply to EVERY message, and send out
whatever information I accumulate.

I will be working in Japan for about a year, taking my A3000 (wife and
daughter too :-), and I'd like some interaction with fellow Amigazoids
when over there.

Sorry to post this, but email to Ed bounced several times.

I forwarded the original posting to Dave Minnich, Commodore Online Support (part
of CBM Customer Service) on CompuServe. The following is his response:

Jeff,

RE: Amiga in Japan

To the best of my knowledge, the Amiga IS being sold in Japan.

As far as software, if what is needed is Workbench or other Commodore
software, contact:

.Commodore Japan Limited
.Sumitomo Higashi Shimbashi
.Building No. 2
.12-7, Highashi-Shimbashi 2-Chrome
.Minato-Ku, Tokyo 105, Japan

As far as other software, contact the various software publisers.

Dave

Thank you. I thought nobody cared.

Sorry about the E-mail, in the area of computer networks GE is either
conservative or backwards - I'm still not sure which.

I will be getting in touch with Commodore Japan Ltd. and will post a
brief summary of what I find. I think that there will be one
overriding interest in Japanese applications, Japanese word
processing. It is an area of growing interest in the US and
elsewhere. Apple recently began selling their Japanese OS in the US.

Does anyone else out there have any info??
