[comp.sys.amiga] Supra Modem Chip change.

aegnor@bsu-cs.bsu.edu (David C. Powell) (08/28/90)

I recently bought a Supra modem (one of the upgraded internal ones) well
it died, and my dealer ordered me a new one. It was NOT one of the new ones,
SO, we swapped out the BIG VLSI chip in the custom socket, so far so good,
BUT I can not STORE 4 numbers (actually it seems to but the ATDSx (x=0-3)
seems to do nothing, the modem goes OFF hook, then sits..) is there ANY
other chip that needs changed??? (like maybe the skinny chip in the socket
NOT the Intel in the socket, the skinny one NOT made by Intel)

Please answer back ANY folk who know which chip(s) got changed, I have a dead
modem to use to 'fix' this old style modem to do the 'new' things but do
NOT want to hunt and poke.... and/or wait for a new modem, and/or pay
another $20.00 to get the updated chip(s)

PLEASE E-MAIL ALL INFO, TOO MUCH STUFF TO WEED THROUGH!!!!!

THANKS IN ADVANCE!
