[net.music] Wanted: Words to Major Tom

andersen@nmtvax.UUCP (04/05/84)

Does anyone have the words for the GERMAN version of
Peter Schilling's "Major Tom (Coming Home)"? The
German version is called "Major Tom (Vo:llig Losgelo:st)"
(colon = umlaut on previous letter) and appears on
the other side of the single containing the English
   version.

If anyone has a copy of the lyrics or knows where to
get them, please post it or send me mail.

Excuse me. I know I posted lyrics before, but have you ever thought
to go to a music store and plunk down the $2.50 royalty charge and come
home with the 10 cent piece of paper called SHEET MUSIC. Not only does
it have the words, it also has music and guitar chords.

In addition, there is a magazine out now (that was advertised on MTV
recently) that is a collection of the lyrics of hit songs so you can
sing along.

You might try subscribing to this.

Oh, come on, really! He's looking for the German lyrics. Though I certainly con-
cede the possibility that the sheet music or that magazine you mention gives the
German as well as the English lyrics, I seriously doubt it. Chances are that the
album might have the lyrics printed on the inner sleeve, but it's possible that
the requester only has the single (I have a 12" single, which does have the
lyrics, and I will send them to the requester when I get the chance to copy them
down.
Besides, how do you know that he *hasn't* looked for the sheet music?
