Hi!  This excerpt from WHOLE EARTH REVIEW, summer 1990,
excerpted without permission, on Prodigy from an article
by Stewart Brand.
  "By contrast, treating information customers strickly as consumers
   is leading the mass-market videotex system called Prodigy toward
   failure, despite (or because of) the $700 million sunk into it
   so far by IBM and Sears."
Hey, imagine what Commodore, Inc. could fail at with $700 million to
burn...  :-)
