Starting on page 219 of the Oct 83 Byte issue is an article on Byte. while i have only skimmed it over i did note a few interesting things: 1) p.220: "... For example, net.general might announce the formation of new news groups, post trivia questions, and relate other miscellaneous messages ..." what is net.news.groups and net.trivia for? net.general should not contain such stuff! (were these groups fromed at the time the article was written?) 2) p.224/225: the net map is a bit old. (long publication delay for byte?) 3) p.226: in the list of active news groups i noticed a lack of groups that were perhaps omitted such as net.rec.nude. (for p.r. reasons?) not that i am fond of such groups, but the omission is interesting. (which bay area site was the list taken from? why was not the list found in net.news.groups used?) would the author: Sandra L. Emerson please post your net address so that we might comment to you directly? (why didnt you post your net address in the article?) did you ask for comments about your usenet article from the usenet users? perhaps you did post such an article and i missed it. in the case that you did not, maybe asking for suggestions from the net users might have produced a better article? (no! im not suggesting net sensorship of articles nor am i saying that the article was awful, just that obtaining suggestions fom the net might have helped) chongo /\../\
