[comp.sys.amiga] Help! My 1000 is just too damn slow!

matchick@bgsuvax.UUCP (Brian Matchick) (09/04/90)

Having used the 030 based Macs and seeing what a 020 A2000 will do, I
have become very unhappy with my 1000's performance of late. I will
probably buy a 3000 one of these years, but I can't afford one while
I am in school. I am going to be using my Amiga to process samples for
my synth and don't know if I will be able to stand waiting forever when
there are other options.
Can anyone tell me the best deal on making my 1000 020 based? I don't
want to spend much more than $300 (or $150 if I can get away with it) and
have no idea what is still available- or at what price. Is an 020 even my
best choice right now? How much improvement will I get (I have 2 megs
of 16 bit fast ram). It is very sad to see my old Amiga chugging along
at 7mhz while the rest of the world is playing with Motorola's good
stuff.

-Brian
