[comp.sys.amiga] Is it legal to spread this software?

borgen@stud.cs.uit.no (Boerge Noest) (09/04/90)

Several Amiga-magazines are carrying disks that have demos of commercial
games. Some of these demos have a note or something that tells you which
magazine it came with, others doesn't mention the magazine at all.
I was wondering if I could upload these demos to ftp-sites, or if all the
material on the coverdisks should be considered the property of the
magazine?

So, what do you think, can I upload these demos?
(email would be nice)
Thanksalot

It is according to what the magazine says. AmigoTimes had a message in
the mag stating that the disk was PD. Amiga Plus didn't say anything like
that, but they wrote some of they software. However, some of the software
is PD, and they would have to allow you to copy at least the PD programs
off of it, since the author usually states that.
