I hope someone at Commodore will contemplate a compatability problem with the Amiga A3000 and the Scanlock genlock. Hardware specifics are A3000/25/100 with KS2.0 ver 36.141 & WB2.0 ver 36.68 and the A1950 monitor with the display enhancer on. The Scanlock is the model VSL-1. The Scanlock depends on the A3000 for power. The problem is the entire display shifts left to right about 1/16" several times a second, but not at a uniform frequency. I am talking about both the A1950 display and the Amiga graphics on the destination VCR and video monitor. This happens regardless if the source sync signal is live TV or a black striped S-VHS tape.If the external sync source is shut down and dependance is on the Scanlock for sync then the Amiga graphics on the destination video monitor is stable but the A1950 display is trash. This left to right shift may not start for the first 5 minutes of operation, perhaps as long as 20 minutes. Once it starts, it seems to continue indefinately. A power down and restart may yield a stable display again for a few minutes. The Scanlock produces a stable display with my A1000 and my A2000. What is going sour with the A3000? This shifting of the Amiga graphics from side to side is not acceptable! Please investigate. I can supply a tape of the display if that would help. This problem is negating what is supposed to be one of the outstanding capabilities of the Amiga. -- Jerry Heald (505) 836-8640 (H) General Electric Co.
