I am seeking out amiga information for a friend who does Macintosh purchasing for a government agency. If the price/performance answers are right, a dye-in-the-wool Mac evangelist will be converted to a better platform. Anyway, here are his questions: 1. Please give some general information on the amiga's ability to emulate the Mac. I have heard that the amiga can run programs faster due to it's custom graphics processors, but I would like people to reflect on *actual* observations. 2. In particular, how do Micorsoft programs for the Mac (esp Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) perform ? Has anyone had problems running these under the emulator ? 3. How, in general, do hardware costs compare ($/memory, $/disk, etc) ? This, along with #2, is very important. Thanks in advance !! 8^) Rick Randall Love, Sir Randall

I have used the original AMax for quite a while now using mostly Microsoft Word 4.0 and WingZ. Yes, there is a VERY noticable increase in speed. Tetris is unplayable for example (only used to show example of increase, not as a recommendation) And I have put a Mac Plus next to it and thru Word 4.0 did a spellcheck on a 50k document in each. There was a large difference in times. I must say, I like what it has done so far and the new version seems even better! Sean Kellner
