[comp.sys.amiga] Driver for Hardframe

mohabir@spot.wbst128.xerox.com (Daniel Mohabir) (09/11/90)

I have a problem with which I hope someone can help me. I have an Amiga 2000
with a Hardframe controller, a 105 meg drive, 6 megs of fast RAM etc.
Problem: When I try to back up the hard drive to a Syquest drive (44 Megs),
using Quarterback, Quarterback would prompt me for a diskchange when the
Syquest cartridge is filled. If I change the cartridge, Quarterback does
not know about it. How can I tell Quarterback that I have changed the disk?
Is there a new driver for Hardframe that supports diskchange? Or a
diskchange program for the Hardframe?
Please do not tell me to look on BIX. I do not have an account there nor
do I know anyone who does.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, you _could_ run DiskChange from another CLI, but we're (by "we", I
mean MicroBotics) not certain that that's adequate. We do have a background
program called "DChange" which does exactly what you wish. It is available
for Bix download (don't fear, I'll EMail it to you), or available on an upgrade
disk ($7.00 U.S.) or the new PROM upgrade ($49.00 U.S. + $3.00 shipping).

Please, no C.O.D.s or credit cards for the disk or PROM. The costs associated
with that are not feasable. We do trust you, so personal checks or money
orders are fine, and we usually don't wait for them to clear before shipping.

Daniel, look for a uuencoded version of DChange from me via EMail.

See above. The new driver runs a version of this DChange program in the
background, so QuarterBack should have no problems. BTW, we wrote it to
support Syquests in particular, since they're getting so popular.

I have an account on Bix, and that's where I'll be sending you the program
from.
