I purchased Lattice 5.05 about 10 days before the 5.10 upgrade was announced. I sent in my card but haven't received official notice yet. Being that I purchased it direct from a distributor rules out the "old stock on the dealer's shelf" excuse, so I'm wondering: Does Lattice have an upgrade policy for people who bought an outdated version just days before the new version is released? It would be fairly silly to expect me to pay another $50 just to get the same package I would have received if I had waited a week or two. At least it sounds silly to me! Lotus and other companies offer free upgrades inb situations like this (ie: if you bought 2.01 just before 2.2 and 3.0 came out). I purchased Lattice 5.05 about 2 days AFTER the upgrade was announced, and my dealer had received it from a distributor on the day of, or the day after the announcement. I called SAS about a week after the announcement, and they told me that I would have to pay the $40 for the upgrade. They may have changed their position since then, but you may be out of luck (and $40...). I was able to return the compiler and order 5.10, so I didn't have to pay the extra $40.
