[Line Eater's Happy Hour: 1-2 am] REAL Amiga Flight Simulator (or: 'You thought Falcon was the best FS on Amiga??'] When I was working with my Amiga and watching TV at the same time, I noticed a very known sight on a regional German channel: the F/A 18 Interceptor cockpit! It turned out to be a program called Computer Club. They had a guy who made his own Flight Simulator... This is what I remember: Interceptor ran on an A1000. He had two monitors connected to it. The first one was on the A1000 and it had a small device attached to it on the screen, at the horizon thingie (you know, you can see a "horizon" which indicated the angle (left/right) you are flying). This device (i believe it used IR sensors) was connected to a C128. The C128 controlled (he wrote the BASIC program himself) the hardware for the Flight Simulator. He was seated on a chair, second A1000 monitor in front of him, joystick next to him and two paddles at his feet, which were all hanging in the air from the ceiling on some air-pressure devices. the movement was sensored by the device on the first A1000 monitor, given to the C128 which translated into commands for the actual air pressure control hardware. So if he moved left, the chair, monitor, etc. would hang left, if he pulled up it hang backward, etc... real fast, too! I did not get any address to write to, but the information i have is that the program was called "Computer Club", aired by the WDR. Maybe German netters may know more about this TV program. Anyway. It is pretty amazing what some users do with their Amiga's... Greetings, Marco Niese (E-Mail: gmreise@cs.vu.nl - shared login: please put 'TO BMR' in subj)
