[comp.sys.amiga] JRCOMM w/ 3000

Will JR-Comm work on the 3000??? If not, is a path or something forthcoming?

Thanks...

Heck! Will it work on a 2000 with a 68010? About 80% of the time
when I quit JRComm 1.0 I get the dreaded "Software Failure" requester. When
canceled I get a Privelege Violation GURU. Not fun.

As near as I can tell, the problem seems to be if JRComm has written
stuff to the serial port and not gotten some kind of response back (like an
echo).
Of course, to be fair, I should question whether or not the problem
is perhaps in CBM's multi-port serial.device...

Well, for my two cents worth, when I received version 1.0 (registered copy)
in the mail a while back, I tried it out on my A2000 w/ GVP 68030 and it
died the minute it started up -- (after the title screen).. Anyway, I sent
a message to Jack Radigan and he said that it wasn't just me.. It appears
that he was having some problems when it comes to the 68030'ish machines..
Anyway, I'm beta testing 1.01 currently and it appears to be working MUCH
better.. In fact, I can get it to hang only once -- and it doesn't really
hang at that..

Just be patient and Jack will get a good version that works wonders with
the >68010 machines (at least 68030-ites).. It is still my FAVORITE
terminal program -- Havent found a single program that comes close!
