[net.general] RITCUS, Shiffman, Sigma 9

Are those names familiar to you? If so, you should read on. If not,
you're lucky.

Although there is no official celebration planned, and although RITCUS
doesn't exist any more, you might be interested in knowing that on
November 23, 1973, Hank Shiffman and Chris Campbell got together and
came up with the concept of RITCUS. That's ten years ago this month!

If you don't know what I'm talking about, but are still reading, RITCUS
was the Rochester Institute of Technology Computer Users Society. When
I was still in school, I named myself the Official Historian, and it
was therefore my duty to send this article to everyone in the world.
Hank was the original Sultan of RITCUS. RITCUS was recently replaced
by the RIT student chapter of the ACM. That's sort of a technicality,
but technically, RITCUS is gone.

I will leave it to you all to remember RITCUS in your own ways.
