[comp.sys.amiga] VAUX-KillerDemo

mueller@hatteras.cs.unc.edu (Carl Mueller) (09/12/90)

Now that my net access has returned, I've been looking at some
of the BADGE Killer Demos from the Fish collection. Unfortunately,
not all of them seem to specify exactly what hardware one needs
to run them (i.e. how much memory?). I've been trying to get the
VAUX-KillerDemo running, but it always seems to run out of room.
I guess 1 meg isn't enough? Anybody know?

By the way, what's the latest revision of the Supra HD software?
I also seem to have the system-hanging-upon-bad-block problem that
someone else mentioned. It's perhaps the most annoying thing about
my system, and it DOESN'T go away after a low-level format and
mapping out of bad blocks. Go figure...

You need 3 megs. (Maybe 2.5; I saw it run on a 3 meg machine.)

Hmm. Won't run on my 2.5Mb A1000. Didja have to clean everything outta
memory first?

It's been a while and I know longer have the demo handy to check, but I
probably did have to go through some minor contortions to get it going.
Try starting to a CLI rather than workbench and whatnot to conserve
memory.
