to s. badian-- there is a saying in colorado: "if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute" what this translates is, your guess is as good as ours what the snowfall will look like. This time last year, we were up to our elbows in the stuff by Christmas--other years, it's just dry as a cracker. Currently, our house in Nederland (at 8600 ft.) has had about 4 snowfalls, amounting to a total of about a half inch of fluff. Needless to say, there is not much natural snow in the hills, although Loveland (and I believe Berthoud) ski areas are open with man-made. Does this help mystify you?
