I just got the "SuperEcho" program by Kevin Kelm from the Fish collection) and would love to play with it, but it doesn't seem to do anything with the input from my Perfect Sound digitizer. Does anyone know what digitizer it was meant to work with? Is there any way I can get PS to work with it? Failing all that, does anyone know of a program that provided similar Real-Time effects with digitized audio input? It works with Perfect Sound prior to 3.0. The 3.0 version includes new
hardware that works in a manner radically different from the older
versions.
SunRize was _very_ uncooperative in my attempts to find out how to use
the hardware. They acted like they didn't want anyone to use the thing
for anything but taking samples. My recommendation is to not buy their
hardware unless you know that _their_ software is going to do what you
want.

In-Reply-To: message from jkh@meepmeep.pcs.com What kind of system do you have your Perfect Sound hooked to? And also, what version is it? 3.0? I was using SuperEcho on my 1MB A500 equipped with PS2.3 with no hassles. They did change the PS in the version upgrade, because I could sample in mono with v2.3 on my A3000-25/50...but got nothing with v3.0 (has ANYONE found a sampler that works with the A3000????) In-Reply-To: message from seanc@pro-party.cts.com I have found no trouble using the old Perfect Sound or the public domain homemade audio digitizer with AudioMaster or SuperEcho, but a friend purchased Perfect Sound 3.1 and we found it to be incompatable with Audiomaster and such. I think that my old digitizer sounded better than his when in mono mode also. The new Perfect Sound software is also nothing compared to AudioMaster II. Has anyone been able to get a PS3.1 to work with Aegis AudioMaster or an old standard (like the pd mono digitizer) to work with the PS3.1 software?

In-Reply-To: message from danb20@pro-graphics.cts.com I've also run into the problem with the latest version of PS working with AudioMaster ][...very agrivating Supposedly, the AMAS combination MIDI interface and digitizer has the cleanest sample capability. My partner saw a beta of AudioMaster ]I[ being used on it for sampling something like 45KHz (albeit 8bit)... I just hope I can find one that works on the A3000 (sniff!). It had the AMAS hardware way out on top, which was nice since that is the sampler I have. :^) The MIDI interface is in/out/thru and is supported in the software which comes with the sampler. Excellent package for the price. I hope Michtron has not dropped the US distribution. This month's AmigaWorld has a New Product announcement of a sampler from Michtron. It used software which looked similar to the AMAS program, but the sampler doesn't have MIDI built in. -- Jerry Thompson | // checks ___________ | "I'm into S&M, "What I want to know is, have | \\ // and | | | | Sarcasm and you ever seen Claude Rains?" | \X/ balances /_\ | /_\ | Mass Sarcasm."

Let me state for the whole world (hopefully in one shot!) that SUPERECHO 1.0 DOES NOT RUN WITH PSOUND 3.0 AND HIGHER. And, YES, I will be writing a new version, probably in the next coupla months after I finish writing "Visionary" for Aegis (STOCKING STUFFER ALERT! Hint, hint, knowwhutamean, say-no-more!!!!) And yes, SUNRIZE INDUSTRIES was rather rude to me as far tech specs for 3.0 go.... basically, they wouldn't tell me unless I got rid of my existing digitizer (a hack), BOUGHT 3.0, and then MAYBE they'd get around to it. Harrumph. Forget that. Thanks for the interest, Kevin Kelm
