Any chance that the Lobster can "escape" from his tank? I like the
idea of the Amiga "Rock Lobster" 500.

Now what do we call the Amiga "replace this line with your message" 1000?

And the Amiga "almost there" 2000?

Keep them letters coming.

The A1000 has always been "Zorro"

The "they're out, don't you have one yet" A2000 has already
gone thru a number of names, but none seem to have stuck...

The Germans didn't name their PC boards like we do here (Lorraine, Zorro,
Rock Lobster, etc.). The West Chester version of the A2000 was called
"The BOSS" for some time, though due to management complaints and limited
spare room on the board, the PCB's "code name" was removed. Better that than
removing the "HAYNIE/FISHER", or the required model/rev information. If
you've got TONS of free PCB real estate like the A500, these things work out
a bit better.

Hey, what happened to "Lorraine"?

Lorraine was the board in the black box development systems.
Velvet was the board that was the prototype board that fit the casework.
Zorro was the production board.

Er, in that case how about "DA BOX"?

One day, when I opened my Amiga 500,
I read on the motherboard :

    B52/Rock Lobster

Does any of you know, why somebody
referenced to the well-known song
'Rock Lobster' by the B-52's in this
way ?

From what I know, the B52/Rock Lobster on the A500 board was the "codename"
for the Amiga 500 project. Hey! Commodore! Is this true?!?!?!

And BTW, BIG BIG BIG thanks to the guy that posted 351-370 of the Fishies!!!

I'm not sure if this is actually how it got it's name, but the story I
remember hearing was that one of the engineers working on the Amiga 500 said,
"If this machine doesn't go over, they'll have to send in the B-52's and bomb
this place". Perhaps someone at CBM can comment?
