I just read I talked to a GVP rep last week. Biggest problem with the '040s is that Moto keeps pushing back the ship date (doesn't want to repeat the i486 fiasco) to fix minor bugs. The rep said that if I buy an '030 board now I'll be able to upgrade to the '040 when it comes out. First '040 units will be for the 2x00 series, but they are definately building cards for the 3x00 series. -- J. The rep said that if I buy an '030 board Well, that's not a problem... let it take however long it takes to get it right. That's what Commodore's doing with 2.0 (and 1.3 for that matter) and while I don't like to wait any more than you, I'd rather have it this way. >now I'll be able to upgrade to the '040 when it comes out. The other companies I know which are working on '040 cards are either doing 3000 versions first or doing them exclusively, not even bothering with the 2000 series. I'm wondering how soon Commodore's will be out... hopefully, it's near enough to readiness that it will be out with or shortly after the '040 itself. . <<<<Infinite K>>>> -- .---------------------------------------------------------------------------. |Ben Scott, professional goof-off and consultant at The Raster Image, Denver| |Amiga UUCP node domain: bscott@vila.denver.co.us Else: bscott@nyx.cs.du.edu| |FIDO point address 1:104/421.2, or call the Arvada 68K BBS at (303)424-9831| |"Don't embarrass us..."
