I have looked at the source OKTAPLAYER.S (the one written in 1989 and posted on abdf), my conclusions are the following. OKTAPLAYER (and maybe VOICE8) are players for music tracks written by an older version of oktalizer. The demos tracks posted on abdf were written more recently with an updated version of the OKTALIZER which seems to be able to produce more special effects The File checker of the older oktplayer was then unable to recognize the newer format. (a few extra fields in the header...) and then miserably failed on its face ... Walter
