[....help me...] My favorites: (well, you asked for it.) Already mentioned: 1) Jimi Hendrix. What more can be said? 2) Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton. Two of the sources of blues guitar. 3) David Gilmour. 4) Eddie Van Halen. The guy has got awesome talent. Not the most creative guitarist, but great on technique. I have to say, though, that he needs a new schtick - the old four-finger technique is wearing a little thin. 5) Dickie Betts. Just listen to "Southbound" or "Jessica" and you'll get my point. Not yet mentioned: 1) Mick Taylor. An excellent blues-scale artist. His stuff on the Stones' "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out" is fantastic, especially on "Stray Cat Blues and the second lead break on "Sympathy For the Devil". 2) Stevie Ray Vaughan. A lot of Hendrix influence here. Great stuff. I especially enjoy "Lenny". (P.S. I heard that Vaughan has a second album coming out sometime soon. Any confirmations?) 3) Joe Walsh. Not the best, but nevertheless worth a mention. Well, it looks like we (as a group) have nearly exhausted guitar players. How 'bout we move on to bassists? My favorites are John Entwistle, John Paul Jones, and Graham Maby. Anyone want to add to the list? Mark Vita ..!decvax!dartvax!markv
