[comp.sys.amiga] Deluxe Paint upgrade

pyppad@gdr.bath.ac.uk (P A Dale) (09/24/90)

I have received an upgrade offer from Electronics Arts for
Deluxe Paint II to III. The price isn't bad (about half the
retail price) but first I'd like to quiz the Net's Deluxe Paint III
users on the package. First off, I know it supports animation
and has a few minor bug fixes. I'd like comments on the animation
regarding ease of use and portability to other applications
(or does the animation stay looking good within DPIII?).
I'm not a serious animator but do use DPII a fair bit, is the
upgrade all round a good thing ?

Thanks in advance. I'll post a summary if the volume warrants it.

Well, I'm a serious animator and I think DPIII animation
is very very easy to use. Compared to many other animation
programs it's probably the easiest and best around. (That's my
personal opinion ofcourse). If you use DPIII for drawing pic-
tures only, there are some improvements (not too many though).

If you want more specifif info on DP or animation, just post
next to this article.

........ I suggest you go for it. DPIII is really a fantastic program, and
the animations it creates are saves in the ANIM format... so compatibility
is good. But the animations also look great in DPIII.
