The following article is on the behalf of a very talented friend of mine who is looking for work in R&D or Teaching in a University. Candidate : Dale K. Canfield 45 Inwood Road Chatham, New Jersey 07928 (201) 635-2408 _B_a_c_k_g_r_o_u_n_d _S_u_m_m_a_r_y Managed projects up to $24,000,000 in environmental control systems including clean rooms, chemical laboratories, gas cleaning facilities and chemical processing facilities. Directed an engineering team that established design and performance characteristics by conducting field trials ; attracted multi-million dollar contracts. _T_e_c_h_n_i_c_a_l _A_c_h_i_e_v_e_m_e_n_t_s Guided the computerization of an unusally difficult heat exchanger design and thereby improved the system which cools gas from 3400 degrees F to below 1000 degrees F. Managed the design of a natural convention/radiation heat exchanger that cooled 110,000 cfm of a gas from 1300 degrees F to 600 degrees F. Directed gas flow model study project that improved performance and reduced cost in full size field units. Increased profit $100,000. Managed design group that developed electro-mechanical chemical process units in response to market requirements. Invented and demonstrated the cigarette filter Invented, designed and developed a method for biaxially orienting nonwoven fibrous material. Designed and guided construction of a nuclear laboratory Designed and developed a manifold for controlling liquid flow in an atomic-powered reactor space exploration project. Managed a team that evaluates a new electrostatic particulate collection system; Developed low temperature processing that produced 15 micron copy machine powder. Improved abrasion resistant with ceramic, tungsten carbide and composite materials
