[comp.sys.amiga] PAL & NTSC Amigas- 220V vs 110V too.

To Andrew,

Hmm... small world it seems. Guess what? I too brought my PAL Amiga
from Singapore but am not running it off 110V supply here. I got a 110-220V
transformer and am now currently using my A2000 with this transformer.
Also, my printer and monitor runs off the 220V transformer too.
Recently, my monitor fused out so I got a Magnovox from MCS and although it
uses 110V, my A2000 on 220V had no problems displaying in either PAL or NTSC.
On the subject of PAL and NTSC, any Amiga, wheher running off 110V or
220V can still get PAL and NTSC display so long as they have the FATTER AGNUS
chip. For the A2000, soldering a switch to JUMPER-102 enables you to switch
between PAL and NTSC display before boot-up. So you don't have to bother about
using those PALBoot type programs. I also soldered a switch to my friends 110V
Amiga2000 with Fatter Agnus and it works too.
As for the monitor? Well, regardless of whether they are running off
220V or 110V, you can still get PAL and NTSC display! Well, it worked for me!

BTW, did you really get your 220V A500 to work on 110V by just pluggin
it in???!!! Please e-mail me about that. Thanx! Lastly, it's good to hear
another S'porean here in the US who has good taste in computers!

PS: I haven't got round to uploading 'Mental Hangover' yet. Sorry! I keep
forgetting when I come in on my shifts!
Please get the Oktaplayer to work!!! Also, keep those demos rolling in...
