Best prices $10-15. A bank of 8 gets you 1 Meg. Thats just under $100/Meg. 1Mx4 s/c 80ns ZIP. Best prices $55-65. A bank of 8 gets you 4Meg. Thats about $120/Meg. Thanks to all the folk who sent e-mail about places with better prices. Two points for all to consider, but especially those who have not bought 3000's, don't have the "Introducing the Amiga 3000" manual, and like to post messages when they don't know what they're talking about...(I was a bit peeved at a few messages from folk like that who seem to think that 1Mx4 80ns ZIPS should be ALOT cheaper and berated me for purchasing memory at such "rip off" prices, and at others who are VERY confused yet continue to say that the $800 difference for a 3000 25/100 versus 25/50 is out of line. It's not. 4Meg of 1Mx4 IS IS IS IS IS IS IS IS >$400 (at least, retail) and $400 for an extra 50MEG of hard and a better machine IS IS IS IS IS IS not *unreasonable*. Point 2. Beware. They're are many dealers who are....well, confused and sometimes a bit underhanded. No. They lie. Some will give quotes for the 100ns chips, or the page mode chips when you explicitly ask for 80ns static column chips. Some have not had enough exposure to the A3000 yet, and some will send 100ns or page chips. To A3000 owners: you DO NOT WANT 100ns CHIPS. (And it's kinda pointless to put in page modes, IMHO.) This is where some of the confusion lies about the prices. 100ns chips are ALOT cheaper. Page modes ARE cheaper. But I don't want them! And as far as 100ns goes, C= isn't shipping them in your machine. Again, thanks to those who sent me dealer's names/numbers. I haven't checked them all, and I haven't found the 1Mx4 s/c 80ns ZIPS much cheaper yet, but I'll keep on looking. I got 4Meg, but I need more and I'm broke! (YES, I do need more. Try deconvolving a 1024x1024 pixel real format image, blinking several, and etc., and you'll know what I mean!) Jim PS - Thanks also to those who sent Lattice vs Manx help, and SAS's phone number. My C is one the way!
