[comp.sys.amiga] Amiga in Macy*s

tucker@tahoe.unr.edu (Aaron Tucker) (10/01/90)

	News to me:

In Sept 30's California Macy's advert (sunday paper) there is a
full page ad for Amiga 500s. reprinted w/o permission:

FINALLY, AN EASY-TO-USE COMPUTER THAT'S PRICE FRIENDLY, TOO.
	JUST $595.
Announcing the Commodore Amiga 500, including tv adapter and 3
	popular software programs!
	.
	.
	.
"The Amiga 500 is user-friendly to the point of being downright
	cozy."
	.
[they then help identify the mouse in the picture of the 500 :) ]
	.
"Multitasking: Let's simplify that by saying the Amiga 500 is the
only home computer truly capable of performing several tasks--like
wordprocessing and videogames- at the same time. Or pull two
programs up on a split-screen to compare or transfer information!"

The ad then goes on to talk about the graphics (with optional monitore)
and compares the 500 to video-game machines. And now a good one:

"If a proglem ever arises ... Commodore Express(registered) has a
24-hr. 800 number for help. If repairs are necessary, Federal
Express will pick up your system within 24 hours of your call, fix it,
and return it in a matter of just a few days, free of charge!"

The three included programs are: Tetris, Carmen Sandiego, and
	Amiga Textcraft Plus. Surprised?

I kind of liked the "announcing the 500" part.
