Folks, Ok, I have some more questions that need to be answered: 1) First, if I download a file via FTP, like program.zoo, can I just download that file from the VAX to the Amiga, UnZOO it, and just run the program. I have seen a lot of talk about UUencoding and stuff. What exactly is this and when do you have to use it? 2) On the other side of the coin, if I ZOO or ARC or LZH a file on the Amiga, and then upload it to the VAX, must I do anything else to the file before sending to someone or to and FTP site? The bottom line : I need help with file transfer.... Please e-mail.. Scott Wood BITNET : v092mgp5@UBVMSD INTERNET : v092mgp5@ubvmsd.cc.buffalo.edu

What >exactly is this and when do you have to use it? Once upon a time, long long ago, it was hard to email files that had eight bit characters in them. Uuencoded files are eight bit files translated into seven bit files. Many newsfeeds still require this, since the news was originally meant for stuff you can read.
