[comp.sys.amiga] What are the chips needed

W_TROIA@upr1.upr.cun.edu (Paolo V. Troia) (09/28/90)

What are the minimum hardware requirements for running WB2.0 on 2000's
and 500's? I know I'll need at least the new kickstart ROM's and (I
think) the 1Meg Agnus Chip with the corresponding Chip memory (feel free to
correct me if I'm mistaken). Do I also need the new Denise even if I don't
want the new modes (at least for the momement)? Is anything else required?

Any news or rumors as to when the ECS will be finally made available
and at what aproximate price will it be sold?

All you should need to *run* 2.0 will be the new ROM (and the
appropriate disks). No need for one meg of chip memory, but the more, the
better, I always say! :-)
A one meg Agnus is nice for very large workbench screens and the
new Denise is nice for productivity mode and the new genlock stuff, but
neither is really needed.

And now for the ever popular question: What is the chance of it
ever running on the 1000 (without Rejuvinator, etc)? Is anybody
working on hacking this into the 1000?

			Thanks, Ralph
