[comp.sys.amiga] starburst: '*' type wildcards for WB2.0????

stefanb@cip-s02.informatik.rwth-aachen.de (Stefan Becker) (10/02/90)

Hi!
I've now got a copy of the eagerly awaited little hack, named "starburst",
which allows '*' wildcards under WB2.0. But on my machine it doesn't do
anything.

What am I doing wrong?

Apparently, with the starburst prg you must include at least one character:
i.e. s* or file*, I can make "dir *" work either..... but "dir t*" works fine.

Try "dir **" and "delete **"

It is a hack, after all :)

AmigaDOS 2.0 (And ARP 1.3, the AmigaDOS 1.3(.2) patch) accepts * wilcards
as well as the old #? type wildcards. I have had no problems.
(BTW...20 owners, remember to stick arp.library in libs. That'll save you
a bunch of headaches)

Watch carefully now...

Did you see it? No? Watch again.....

I have both 2.0 and 1.3.2, and I can't get either to use "*", what else have you
been running?
