I have a question concerning my wimpy power supply on my A500. I have
had a 63.5 watt IB* XT power supply fall into my lab for a very good
price. (Read free). I wish to replace my stock baby A500 supply with it.
I have identified the proper lines on the XT supply (+5v,+12v,-12,gnd) from
the main outputs of the XT supply. (Anyone familier with one knows
that there are about 15 wires there.)

My problem is this: on the bottem of my present
A500 supply, there is a nice handy wiring diagram, with all
lines labeled quite nicely,[3mEXCEPT[0m, there is a signal ground
and a shield ground pin. There are two separate pins. What is the
difference and is there something coresponding on the output of my XT
supply? I's jest gots to know; before my A500 supply blows up and
takes my machine with it.

Basicly, what are these pins and how do I hook them up to my XT supply?
Just what is the computer looking for on these lines?

If you can save my butt, thanks very much in advance...

==Brett

Ok Bret... I have your answer... but... there are two things.
First of all, the file that gives great schematics and good
technical information was just wiped off my Hard Drive.

The good news is, is that it is availiable on Compu$erve. But
don't fret, ma frind. I'm going to be on today, and when I do...
I'll try to mail it to you. Or, better yet... I'll
send the whole thing as an FTP to abcdefhgh...etc. etc...
so.. that way, everybody can benifit from it.

I'll call it XTPOWER.lzh or something. so look for it.
This *WILL* solve your problem...
