[comp.sys.amiga] PD Ray-Tracing, and ftp sites

niobium@arrakis.nevada.edu (Christopher W. Carlson) (10/07/90)

Hallo, all. Two questions:

1) Where might I obtain a public domain ray-tracing program (and what kind
of performance might I expect)?

2) Is anybody else experiencing problems with the abcfd20.larc.nasa.gov
ftp site and the site at 128.174.5.59 (at UIUC)? Any idea when they'll be
returning?

Thanks...

Problems like ``connection timed out'' and ``host/net unreachable''
are most often caused by network problems between your site and the
destination site. In the case of abcfd20, it's been up for about two
months straight. Check with your system administrator.

If abcfd20 is going to be down for an extended period of time, I try
to announce it here in comp.sys.amiga...

Well...with abcfd20.larc.nasa.gov, I've tried to get in from both
rose.ucs.indiana.edu and ernie.cs.byu.edu andboth with no luck. When I
try ux1.cso.uiuc.edu it says "connection refused".

You too eh? I thought I was the only one. Yep, I can't get a connection
on either of those sites. I thought it was something on this end. Guess
not...hope they don't go down for good....
