Keith Doyle was demo'ing The Director version 2 at AmiExpo this past weekend. He had it running on a 3000 using 2.0. The Director now comes with its own integrated editor so you can edit your script, run it, then go directly back to the editor. Every area has been "tuned up". There's more stuff too like being able to create polygons and use them as masks *and* you can control the shape of the polygon from frame to frame. I don't recall all the goodies he added but it looks quite extensive. All registered owners should be getting a letter "shortly" explaining the new version and informing them of the upgrade deal. Its scheduled to start shipping in "six weeks". Microprose was there also and the marketroid said F19 was going to start shipping in three weeks. I asked if he had a demo and was told no but would look "exactly like the I*M version". I asked if they used Amiga to its potential. He told me MP "never ports" anything and always uses the particular machine's attributes. He then said that there was no way to improve the graphics for a flight simulator between the different computers and that's why "all flight simulators look alike". He said that the requirements put on a computer by flight sim programs limit what you can do graphics wise. Well, that's what *he* said! :-) Not familiar enough myself with Ami graphics programming to argue one way or the other... -Gordon
