[comp.sys.amiga] FOCUS Amiga

Well, it looks like the Amiga got a little recognition around here.
(ALASKA)
We had our third annual FOCUS (Federation of Computer Users Society) fair this
year and it was quite a surprise. FOCUS is a group formed from all of the
local User Groups (IBM, MAC, AMIGA, APPLE, etc) and the fair is a culmination
of the efforts from this group.
Everything was volunteer...even the TV comercials (yes we had Comercials for
advertisement) were volunteer. Radio, fliers, everything was volunteer.

When it came to the actual show many user groups had a somewhat week showing.
But not Amiga ..there were 12 Amigas total. 2 3000's (1 was displaying
Amiga Advertisement using a CD..very nice..and interactive..I applaud
CBM for thier Point of Sale system...it was a hit!!)..we had several 2000's
(including 1 using a touch screen..that provided information about the
differnt groups.) we had several a500's (mine being one)...and 1 1000.

There were many demonstartions including the Use of Amiga Graphics, Amiga
Vision demonstrations (I displayed its ease of use to several people..including
our local newspaper). We convinced a Cable Company to purchase a few
Amigas..and several students...The Amiga displays were severely packed...there
was a crowd of people around the tables..The other groups recieved hardly any
attention. There were several comments from peopel stating that the rest of
the fair was boring when compared to the Amiga displays...
The user group displayed Cad, Multimedia, animation, art, music, sound
digitizing, games, 3d glasses, video, word processing, etc...we literally
overwhelmed the other groups.

It looks like the Amiga is starting to hit it big. And people are beginning to
ask "Why should I buy an IBM. Why should I buy a MAC?"....
