This is my advertisement idea for the Amiga. (I promise not to post more than one of these every 10 years. :-)) I was just watching the security monitor we have for one of our Mac labs. One guy caught my attention, that was moving quickly between about 5 different Mac II's in a seemingly random order. He'd go to one machine, write something down on a piece of paper, then get up and go to a different machine, type something in, then go to another machine and do something else, checking the screens on the two other machines in between the moves. My first thought was: "what the hell is this guy doing???" then I realized, "Oh yeah, Mac's don't multi-task!" Anyway, my idea for an advert., as you might imagine by now, to show what multitasking can do for you is: Show an Amiga user doing all the things, at one computer screen, another computer user can only do by running around between several other machine. Amiga, the computer for people who prefer to get their aerobic workout at the gym. <-- if you showed the 'other computer' user running around at 5-10X speed up. Well, like I said, I promise not to do this for another 10 years. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Michael Purtell ---- mpurtell@iastate.edu Iowa State University ---- Birthplace of the first electronic digital computer ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
