To anyone at Commodore who can answer: I'm just trying to get a clear-cut response regarding the A2286 BridgeBoard. Every person I ask (3 people at Commodore, and my dealer..) gives me a different answer. This is a rather expensive piece of equipment that is NOT working for me, and nobody can tell me the current repair/acknowledgement status. On 25 Jul 90, in a message from someone at Commodore, I was informed that the Bridgeboard problems were "well-defined" and "well-understood", and that a solution is in the works. Well, this was fine and good, until I received another response from someone else at Commodore, stating that there is a "simple solution" (turning off the data cache before binddrivers in startup-sequence), but "it's hard to tell what isn't working" other than that. Hmmm. Is this problem as clear-cut as I thought? And, more importantly, is a solution on the way? The solution listed above (turning off the data cache) does NOT work satisfactorily. (The card works 50% of the time, other times it simply refuses to acknowledge the hard drive upon bootup, also failing to acknowledge the Janus software.) Thanks, in advance, for your help. \marc Marcus N. Cannava ====== 'I do not fear computers.. I fear the lack of them' -- I. Asimov RNM
