I just downloaded Analyticalc from abcfd20 and managed to get it unpacked (thanks to all of you who offered advice) and I am confused as to where I could find working documentation. I've had some minimal experience with spread sheets but I need to find out how and where to add formulas etc. It looks as though there are HELP pages in the program but I've had no luck pulling them up. Is there a large .DOC file anywhere? Thanks, Tim Leonard tim@lenti.med.umn.edu

There is a help file for AnalytiCalc that is in file PCCHELP.HLP in the ANALYKEY.ZOO file on my usual distributions (some more recent ones have been in .LZH format instead but the same files). The material in ANALYKEY.ZOO should be in an area assigned to DK: or in your current directory when running AnalytiCalc. The help file is random-accessed but has a keypad diagram and other info. A far more complete set of docs, which you should read, are in the ANALYDOC.ZOO file. This contains a full manual and a "cheat sheet" which has just the list of functions and commands (in abbreviated form in some cases). The most recent AnalytiCalc update changed only the source code and the executable, and accordingly the doc and keypad files may not be on abcfd20. They did appear on a Fish disk awhile back, though, and can be obtained from there. Disk 328 was, I think, the last one Fred has had. Prior to that, disk 27 Fish disk 176 has a full AnalytiCalc distribution including all documents. It can be obtained off various Internet sites if these docs are needed. They haven't been changed in a while, as I've been putting short text files of new material in with the update distributions. AnalytiCalc for Amiga also appeared complete on the Spring 1990 DECUS VAX SIG tapes, documents and all. (Also the Vax version!). Glenn Everhart Everhart@Arisia.dnet.ge.com

The Docs for Analyticalc can be found with the program, on Fred Fish Disk 328, as usual available from ux1.cso.uiuc.edu. Now another question on AnalytiCalc: Is there a newer version which supports the new font selection available in 2.0AmigaOS?? I use Courier as my default text font, and that makes AnalytiCalc unusable to me. Note: I use hires interlaced ntsc Workbench, with Times12 for Icon Text, and Screen Text, but Courier11 for default text. When I ran Analyticalc, I couldn't figure out how to quit because It did not properly display the confirmation message, and I thought It was hung. Are there any spreadsheet programs that use 2.0 font selection, and look good? The Advantage 1.0 looks dreadful next to my Workbench/Shell/Environment. -Ed Berger eb15@andrew.cmu.edu
