[comp.sys.amiga] PPage Fonts and PageStream

All,
I tryed something and it worked to some extent. I bought Gold
Disks Designer Series Font Pack. This includes the fonts Bodoni Book,
Microstyle Extended, and Park Avenue.
A friend came over that uses PageStream. I used PageStream
and assigned the fonts to my Prof.Page directory. I was amazed to
find that it worked to some extent. Park Avenue and Bodoni Book work
one hundred percent! Microstyle Extended works only in capital
letters and some lower case characters. An interesting little fact.
Maybe, the Amiga could gain another standard here! NO MATTER
WHO MAKES THE OUTLINE YOU COULD USE IT WITH ANY PROGRAM! (That would
be too much to ask though, wouldn't it?)

Well, Gold Disk uses two different versions of Outline Fonts.
The "original" outline fonts for ProPage & PageSetterII and a different
type of file for ProDraw, which you have to make with the CreateFont
program. (You can also make postscript fonts, and "amiga" fonts).
Making these fonts with CreateFont V1.0 is slow and tedius.
The program runs as a workbench/intuition program, and you have to
enter the new font name for each and every font you make.
This is painful, when you want to make a complete set for ProDraw, or
a complete set of postscript fonts for post1.1, and even worse for
"amiga fonts", where you just want to make different sizes of the same
font, and it won't put them in the same font directory.
I hope they have improved CreateFont on the new font disks. I may not
buy them, if they haven't.
