[comp.sys.amiga] Messydos?

specter@disk.UUCP (Byron Max Guernsey) (10/11/90)

Am I missing something with MessyDos? I got the program off the fish disk, I
installed it in the proper directories, then i used these commands in my
startup-sequence to mount it..
mount msh: (using arp mount replacement)
assign messydos: df0:

So far, I have had little luck with it. It works to some degree in that it
will display the files and let me edit them to some degree, but in the
process of rewriting the files it does all kinds of STUPID things! For
instance, I download WANDERER for IBM onto my amiga and dearced it on the
amiga then copied all the files over to an MSDOS disk I had previously. It
seemed to copy the files, but when I looked at the disk, only 1 file was
there that i copied (I was using CSHELL). So I recoppied the files, and this
time it erased about 20 other files that were on the disk, but the files I
copied seemed in place. I tried the files I copied over on the IBM and got
nonexistant sector errors and other things! It has never worked correctly
for me. One time it screwed a disk so bad neither MSH: or df1: would recognize
it as any type of dos disk. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing patches?

Secondly, Is the 14mhz 68000 hack only for the 500? Is it available for the
1000? What kind of speed increase does the 68010 have? Give me figures?!?!

Adios...
