There has been an advertisement in the past few issues of Amigaworld about a 'Kickstart Board' which "[plugs...] into the KICKSTART ROM's socket. You can install up to three KICKSTART ROMs on [the] board...all [accessible] at the flick of a switch! Works with ALL Amiga computers and accessories such as processor accelerators." The price is $44.95 from UTILITIES UNLIMITED OF OREGON, INC. Now, is this a real, shipping product (anyone, anyone?)? Also, is $45 too high a price? Finally, and most importantly, is this type of thing sanctioned by Commodore or do Commodore's engineers (hint hint) see anything wrong or incompatible in using a board like this? I know it would void the warranty, but will it really let you run old (1.x,1.3) software and then power down, flip a switch, and run 2.0? Give me your opinions.
