All these people having AMAX II hard drive problems may find this helpful,
(at least I hope so).
I had no problem with my set up: A500, A501, IVS Trumpcard, IVS META4(2megs)
AMAX II, AmigaDos 1.3, Mac System 6.03, st157n
here is what I did:
1: backe up the harddrive
2: split one of my partitions into two. One for Amiga and one for
Amax.
3: I created the Amiga partition with the hard drive utilities, but
left the Amax one alone as unused disk space.
4: I reinstalled my Amiga Software from the back up
5: Copied the corresponding .amhd file to devs: (ivs_scsi.amhd)
6: I created the following mountlist entry:
AMAX1:
Device = IVS_SCSI.device
Unit = 1
Flags = 0
Surfaces = 6
BlocksPerTrack = 26
Reserved = 2
Interleave = 0
LowCyl = 480 ; HighCyl = 607 /* of 608 */
Mount = 1
Buffers = 5
#
7: I typed mount AMAX1:, and then started AMAX II. It started,
but gave me a bad disk icon. I put in a boot floppy, and it
booted the mac system. As soon as the system was up I got a
bad disk requester asking if I wanted to format etc.
I selected format. Waited . . .
It formatted the AMAX partition, put up the disk icon, and
that was it.
I the copied the system folder to that partition, and since
then I have been able to boot off the AMAX partition.
I hope this helps .
