Hi. I am wondering what sort of plans Commodore has for any new advertisements. I hope that they don't go with the TV ads the way they had them before, with "Stevie". I think what we need is an ad campaign that shows that this is a serious machine that can get your work done. Not only that, it can get it done better than any other machine. Why not show some sort of business setting, or an engineering setting, something to show off real-time animation, something to show nice 3D solid modeling, ray-tracing, etc. How about some ads with the Lowell board driving the graphics (that ought to make people look up, especially if it's running under WB 8-). In general, make people feel that this is THE machine to do your work on (whatever it may be). Also, there are several students at our campus that are going to go out and do as much for C= as we can. We are going to print up flyers and post them about the school, so we can let people know that this is an excellent machine at an excellent price. C=, let's do it economically this time, ok? Instead of paying megabucks to LucasFilm, just use the tools you have right in front of you.... YOUR AMIGAS!!! I've seen some Amiga-generated videos that are absolutely stunning. Why not take 1 full minute of the BEST Amiga animations, show them with _Amiga_Generated_ sound and at the end of the ad say: "You probably knew that the images you've been watching were computer-generated. What you probably didn't know was that they were all created on a home computer.... The Amiga, from Commodore." (as the picture fades to white, and then the C= Amiga logo fades in on the white) Kurt -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- || Kurt Tappe (215) 363-9485 || Amigas, Macs, IBM's, C-64's, NeXTs, || || 184 W. The Amiga has been "selling itself" for so long, this would be the exemplification of that fact. In order to do it well, you have to know the Amiga, know the people who need it, and how the Amiga meets their needs. Simple marketing theory. PS> I'm serious about the camcorder!!
