Said mouseoff program exists, and does indeed run under Commodities in
2.0. I used the same technic for turning off the mouse as on 1.3
(suggested by Bryce Nesbitt), and have had no problems with it.
However, others have reported problems with it leaving streaks when
the mouse is offed. This is normally due to toggling sprite dma when a
sprite is being displayed. Because of that, I've gone looking for a
better method, and think I've found one. I just have to figure out why
it gurus the machine on occasion. Until that time, i don't want to
release it.
The release of the earlier version is floating around, and includes
some bugs with the keystroke counter (inadequate testing on my part -
two bugs that canceled each other out, or weren't exercised, for my
test cases). That could be put on abcfd20, but seems counterproductive
when there are known bugs, and a new version should be out soon (I
hope, anyway).
