A recent call to the Amiga WP Hotline netted the following tidbits: 1. A maintenance update, 4.1.12, is due out the beginning of November. The draw seems to be a new improved status line which will tell the user which codes are before, under, and after the cursor WITHOUT having to do the Alt-F3 shuffle. 2. It was guestimated that a 5.0.x version with graphics would require a system to have 2 megs of memory. Programmers want the new version and Management needs to realize the demand. Interested? A list is in the making, get your vote in to the Hotline. Now, my concern is this. I've got an A500 with A501 expansion. What would be the best way to upgrade to 2 megs? I'm not holding my breath on 5.0.x, but I would still like to know. John Obermesik 34MASRB@CMUVM.BITNET

Sounds good, although six weeks ago it was going to be released
in October. :-)

Mine already is... Maybe it's time to bug them again...

Buy one of the many hard disk controllers that allow to expand
memory within them. That's by far the best way to add more memory to
your Amiga. And you can add a hard disk at the same time! :-)

I have WP running on 2.0. You need to have an 8 bit font like Topaz as the default, and run it on it's own screen. Things are still so funky that I can't reliably use it. The Library stuff works OK. The Calendar is really hosed however. It won't read the correct time and date. In fact it seems to be constantly changing the date. It sits there and changes from day to day all by itself. Has anyone else tried WP under 2.0 and fared better? I don't want to have to wait for the fix "sometime in November." Does anyone know of any patch/hack/fix to get better results. Anything would help. -- Jerry Thompson | // checks ___________ | "I'm into S&M, "What I want to know is, have | \\ // and | | | | Sarcasm and you ever seen Claude Rains?" | \X/ balances /_\ | /_\ | Mass Sarcasm."
