[comp.sys.amiga] Q: Is 1.5M possible for my Amy ?

PROHVK32@TREARN.BITNET (Cem Turgay) (10/16/90)

Hello all, Dear Amiga experts,
I have an Amiga 500 (rev.6) and Fat Agnus with 1MB (512 chip, 512 fast)
on board (without expansion card). My expansion socket is empty and I
want to upgrade its memory to 1.5MB (512 chip, 1024 fast). Is it
possible with 512K expansion card ? If it's possible, would you like to
help me about jumper position and other hints. What must I do ?
Thanks in advence,

No, adding the A501 512K expansion module would only cause hassles,
not increased memory. The 512K of fast RAM that got added to the
motherboard of the A500 takes the place of the A501.

There are some third party companies that make multi-meg expansion
boards that fit in the expansion slot, but all of them require some
sort of additional connections to the motherboard to do this.

Too bad. Guess I won't be buying another A500 after all, if I can't have
1.5 megs without voiding my warranty.
